In the source monitor the 4K 24fps clip plays just fine but in the program monitor it's choppy. No clue what's going? I tried changing the playback resolution and that did nothing.

get davinci resolve instead , it's free and comparable to after effects. Let alone premier pro. I had no playback issues at all from day 1. I just figured I'm using just about every other adobe product. Why not! How annoying even adding more ram didn't seem to help. 12gb seems like more than enough just to trim an MP4 file with the effects off and all.
